Nova Southeastern University

The Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center is a joint-use library with the Broward County Public library system. Because it is located a few blocks from the U/CL, on the main campus of Nova Southeastern University, if you are in an extreme rush, we can sometimes make special arrangements and have the book picked up by the borrower instead of waiting for courier delivery.

We provide the following information to assist our patrons.

Their address and telephone number are:
3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33314-1013
Telephone: 954-262-4600

Note: There is a public parking garage in front of the library. There is a charge for parking.

U/CL – NSU Borrowing Options

1.  SEFLIN Card

Borrower can acquire a SEFLIN card at the U/C L reference desk and go in person to Nova to pick up the book for a thirty day loan period (no renewals).

2.  ILL

Borrower can request the book through the U/CL ILL department for 28 days.  In the case of NSU, we can make special arrangements and have the book picked up by the borrower instead of waiting for courier delivery.

3.  Nova Southeastern Library Card

Borrower can apply for a NSU card and check out the book in person for 30 days (two renewals).  For Broward residents, a Florida driver’s license will suffice for identification (there is a list of other documents accepted posted on their website).

Non-Broward residents who work in the county must comply with the above requirement and present in addition some form of documentation showing a Broward county employment address.  This can be accomplished with a school schedule, school ID, employment ID, a letter from a registrar’s office, or payroll stub showing employment address.
