If you find a book in LINCC that is owned by another community college library, you can request that it be sent to this library via the LINCC Catalog. We will notify you when it arrives.

ILL Direct Request via WorldCat
Direct Request is a service offered by WorldCat via the FirstSearch database that allows students, faculty, and staff to make a request for a book or a periodical directly from the library that owns it! This speeds up the processing time for an ILL request.
The book or periodical will be sent to the U/CL’s ILL Department and they will contact you to pick it up.
To use Direct Request follow the simple steps below:
- From the U/CL home page (http://ucl.broward.edu) under “Finding Articles”, click on “Databases by Title.”
- Click on the letter “w” or scroll down the screen to “WorldCat via FirstSearch.
- Click on "WorldCat via FirstSearch" and you will be directed to it through LINCCWeb.
- BC students that are off-campus will need to enter their student ID number. If you don’t know your student ID number, you can find it on your BC photo-ID card (ID#). Then enter your PIN number, which for library purposes are the last four digits of your Social Security number.
- FAU students using the U/C Library will need to enter their library card number which is the 14-digit number on your FAU Owl Card, beginning with 2197. Please do not type the letter "A" at the beginning or end. For the U/C Library, PIN number is the last four digits of your Sociakl Security number.
- Click on Connect to Database.
- Once on the WorldCat Basic Search screen, key in your search terms in one or more of the boxes and click on Search.
- After you have retrieved the record for the desired book or periodical that is not available at Broward College, click on “Borrow this item from another library (Interlibrary Loan)” under Availability.
- Fill out the form and click on the “Submit” button.
- If you have completed the form correctly, FirstSearch will respond with the message that your request was successfully sent.
If you need assistance, please see one of the Reference Librarians or call 954-201-6653.
